Tranquilo Bay Eco Adventure Lodge

Tucked into the wild beauty of Isla Bastimentos in Bocas del Toro, Panama, Tranquilo Bay Eco Adventure Lodge invites guests to experience nature and community in an honest and lasting way. As a KOWA Ambassador, Tranquilo Bay roots itself in authentic experiences that honor the place and its people.

At Tranquilo Bay, guests find adventure in nature’s richness, with over 200 acres of protected rainforest, mangroves, and reefs to explore. Birding is a core passion here, with over 230 species spotted onsite and more than 600 on excursions to diverse habitats across the archipelago and mainland. The canopy tower offers panoramic views where guests can spot Red-lored and Mealy Amazon, Montezuma Oropendola, Masked Tityra, Palm and Plain-colored Tanager, Green Ibis, and Double-toothed Kite, and more as the forest comes alive with activity. On a single day (morning or afternoon), observing around 35 species from the canopy platform is possible. On a particularly productive morning with abundant fruits and flowers, up to 50 species can be seen from a single observation point, making the experience truly remarkable for our visitors as they search for various bird species.

Tranquilo Bay’s work extends beyond the property. The lodge supports the community as stewards of the land. The team works alongside Ngäbe employees, conservation groups, science organizations, and local businesses to support sustainable development and protect natural treasures. They share their progress openly, aiming to create a model of tourism that gives back to the land and the people who live here.

For those seeking a genuine connection to nature, Tranquilo Bay offers a place to unwind, explore, and support tourism that makes a difference.
