Shae Warnick

Shae Warnick

Shae Warnick is an artist living in southeastern Idaho. If she’s not painting birds, she’s outside learning the names of things, reading natural history books, or opening specimen drawers in museum research collections. Shae pursued a multidisciplinary study that combined scientific subjects such as ornithology and botany with fine art, and she has devoted her art career to bridging the two subjects. Her ornate paintings rely heavily on research and personal observation in the field, and she uses Kowa optics to sketch on location and digiscope reference photos for future paintings.

Shae has collaborated with many institutions internationally and across the country, including the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, the Punta Cana Foundation Group in the Dominican Republic, and the Lloyd Library and Museum in Cincinnati. She currently exhibits with several galleries and occasionally collaborates with her twin sister, artist Alex Warnick.
